Ethiopian Tribes PhotoWorkhop by Maro Kouri in Ethiopia 29 Febr. - 8 March 2020
An experimental Photographic Workshop in south Ethiopia,
to discover and connect with the exotic ancient tribes of the Omo River crossing endless landscapes with primitive villages through the eyes of our hearts.
Omo Valley Tribes:Photographic Workshop by Maro Kouri in Ethiopia February 29 -March 8, 2020.
Within the adventure, inner joy rises. This is our goal.
Mama Africa: The wild, pure nature of Africa teaches the harmony in the composition of our images.
Through silence, meditation, dancing, grounding, observation, our photo is authentic.
We photograph people reconciled with nature. People who admire a seed, a flower, a feather, a tree. They inspire us.
They paint their faces and their bodies and we express ourselves, liberating through our lenses. Using well-being techniques we learn to come to our centre.
Here and now we photograph passionately, we connect with the team, with the natives, with ourselves.
A few words about the route:
From Addis Ababa to ancient Tiya, the UNESCO's natural monument of world heritage offers us epic images. From Arba Minch we travel to the hospitable villages of the Konso tribe, in the Weemt of the Tsemai tribe, in the Key Afar of the Benna tribe. In the African markets, the paradise of the photographer, we are We celebrate our pictures.
Hamer women with hair woven into rings made of mud and butter. Meanwhile photography, we like to dance, to meditate, to share. Kangatan, a mixture of shepherds and fishermen and Daasanach people, seem like they emerge as Yakometi's figures through their colorful necklaces. The huts in Kolcho, perched on the hills, look towards the river.
We feel, we breathe every "klick". Laughter with the smallest population in the area, the Karo tribe. At the Mago National Park, Mursi women have hand-made plates on their lower lip. Walk in the hills by visiting the distilleries of local jean.
Farewell to the New York of Konso valley, the spectacular scenery with the formations of the rocks. At nights we practice the art of editing, by selecting & evaluating our images. Aim, to discover our inner way in photography day by day.
The workshop ends with a festive presentation and "ceremony" of the group-portfolio.
